In this case, plaintiff, a customer of our finance company client, was involved in an online fraud scheme with various auto salvage companies. The plaintiff agreed to utilize his credit to finance a vehicle for the salvage company, for which the salvage company was to pay the debt. The plaintiff failed to pay for the vehicle in accordance with the contract. We moved for summary judgment to dismiss the complaint and for judgment on our client’s counter-claim. The Court granted our motion and dismissed plaintiff’s complaint. The court also awarded our client counterclaim for costs and an amount in excess of attorneys’ fees.
